The twelve articles published here are based on lectures given at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in the last academic year. The twelve DAAD lectures in German were given as a series of lectures to promote German-language cultural studies and literary studies at the Faculty of Humanities of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem by Michael Fisch, the holder of the »Walter Benjamin Chair for German-Jewish Literary and Cultural Studies« initiated and implemented. The Department for German Language and Literature, the Franz Rosenzweig Minerva Research Center for German-Jewish cultural history, philosophy and literature, the Richard Koebner Minerva Center for German history and the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Humanities at the Hebrew University supported this series of lectures. The volume was published in September 2020 and is dedicated to the literary scholar Stéphane Mosès (1931-2007).
